溪边村位于溪尾镇北部，距镇政府所在地约16公里。村名取自村落紧邻溪流，村委会设在溪边村。全村下辖溪边、湖坪两个自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年初，溪边一带归下白石区仙溪乡。1959年组建溪边大队，七年后以新溪大队之名出现，1980年才恢复溪边的名字，1984年起成为村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域以山地为主，多丘陵，山林面积远大于耕地。[2]

经济[edit]

村民以种植茶叶、花生、番薯和水果为生。青壮年多外出务工，留村者从事电机、茶叶、食品加工等行业。[2]
