吉坑村位于溪潭镇西南部的山区，南与蕉城区、西与周宁县交界。村庄建于唐朝时期。1980年设吉坑大队；1984年起成为吉坑村委会。村以茶叶和毛竹为主要产业。村名据说来自历史上溪畔种植桔树、与“吉”字谐音的情形，村中的林公忠平候王宫等古建筑保存完好。[1][2]
