后洋村地处潭头镇西北部，离镇区约16公里，辖后洋、王沙坑两个自然村，村内为革命老区基点村[1][2]。

地名由来[edit]

村庄原名后阳，村内有一座水坝，后改名后洋[1]。

革命历史[edit]

土地革命战争时期，这里成立了秘密游击队，即后来闽东工农游击第一支队的前身，并建立了中共福安西北区委和区苏维埃政府。村中革命烈士多达32名[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

陈挺将军故居位于村中75号，始建于清代，为坐东北向西南的合院式建筑，有前后天井，中间为厅堂[1]。陈挺1961年被授予少将军衔[2]。

荣誉与沿革[edit]

2019年12月，后洋村入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单；2020年2月，列入「福建省第三批省级传统村落」名单[1]。2022年12月，福建省绿化委员会将后洋村定为「2022年福建省森林村庄」[1]。1950年隶属第九区后洋乡，1958年设大队，归上白石管辖，1969年改由潭头公社管辖，1984年大队改设为村委会，沿用至今[1]。
