地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，张姓人在金山后坡一带兴建村落，其后人把「后坡」改称「大留」，以纪念汉代开国元勋张良受封留侯。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，大留村建于唐咸通五年（864年）；同一网页的基本介绍又称，张姓始祖于公元908年肇基大留而建村，两种说法不一。[1][2]
1929年设立大留乡，1958年改为大队，1984年改为村，隶属甘棠镇；2012年划归罗江街道办事处。[1]

博雅地名网称，村中在宋代出过抗金名将张观、理学名家张泳，近代闽东教育家张如翰也是此地人。[2]

村中有大留老街、古井群，以及大留乡村记忆馆与大留红色记忆馆，村里还编有《大留村志》。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
「苏洋刘氏俊八墓」位于村西南面约500米的金字峰山脚，年代为明弘治年间，属古墓葬。墓呈风字形，坐西朝东，占地150平方米，墓碑立于墓丘之前。[1]
荣誉[edit]
大留村曾获福建省地名文化遗产「千年古村落」（2019年）、福建省「老年人健身康乐家园」（2018年）、宁德市「文明村镇」（2016年）等称号。[2]
2021年6月，大留村列入福建省第四批省级传统村落名单；福建省农业农村厅于2022年10月认定，大留村入选「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
