桥南社区位于狮城镇城区南部，因县城桥南一带在社区划分时归为一个社区而得名。社区东接东园社区，西至月亮山与龙潭村交界，北隔桥南街与中兴、城西两社区相邻。[1][2]

社区由南庄村民委员会改设的城南村民委员会整合而来，2003年6月设立，下辖南庄、朝南、兰前3个小区。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

社区内的仙人骑鹤山为最高峰，海拔1132.8米。地势平坦，宜林地约占总面积的八成，花岗岩与钨矿储量丰富。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年9月起，南庄一带归城关公社。1984年6月，南庄大队的管委会撤销，改为村民委员会，隶狮城镇。2000年9月，南庄村委会更名为城南村委会。[3]

文化与人物[edit]

社区前身南庄村文教较盛，清代有生员32人。1989年，县里在此建成影剧院。[2]

清代人物有吴绍光，生于乾隆十年（1745年），乾隆四十一年（1776年）考中武科生员榜首，并负责筹款重修初晴书院。另有吴鸿均，生于光绪三年（1877年），积极参加禁烟，修桥筑路，劝人求学。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区主要名胜有仙岗山、砖桥广场、烈士纪念碑和金钟山公园。桥南街内的缘福公园也在社区内。[2]
