山田村位于斜滩镇东北部，在车岭鹫峰山脉脚下，村委会驻山田（店前）自然村，距镇所在地2.5公里，距县城28公里。村中的车岭古道岭尾一段，与古道沿线的遗迹相连。村域内有8个自然村，主姓为叶、郭、张、雷。[1][2][3][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中的古迹包括荆棘寨旧址，以及车岭关、平氛关各一座。摩崖石刻分布在车岭头与山田岭尾。古凉亭5座，古宫祠1座，多为清代遗存。另有“五龙过溪”“仙人洞”等自然景观。[1]

经济[edit]

产业以茶叶为主，兼产柑橘：福云六号茶园1500亩。金牡丹100亩，红美人柑橘320亩。改革开放后，村里引入了企业；目前有铸件厂9家，另有茶叶加工厂与农业合作社各2家。[1]
