路下乡位于福建省宁德市屏南县西部，是县辖的5镇6乡之一。乡内地势多为山地，海拔平均达860米，气候温暖湿润，四季分明。乡域东南与屏城乡、长桥镇相邻，西北面与岭下乡及建瓯市东游镇、玉山镇相接。全乡辖11个行政村。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

屏南建县之前，这一带归古田县管辖。雍正年间建县后，此地被编入七都与九都。进入民国，1914年隶属南二区，1936年改属第三区，区公署设于长桥。1940年全县撤区并设乡镇，此地形成路下乡。[3]

1943年，全县乡镇缩减为8个，路下乡保住了名分。1949年以后，此地先划归第三区，区公所设在长桥；1952年8月改入第一区，区公所迁到路下；1956年7月全县并成4个区，此地归长桥区管理。[3]

1958年5月撤区，改设数个指导小组，此地受长桥指导组统辖。同年9月组建五个人民公社，路下归红旗公社。1961年8月全县重划为十个公社，此地另设路下公社。1984年9月人民公社撤销，乡人民政府成立，生产大队改称村民委员会，原辖区域称行政村，路下这一名称一直保留到今天。[3]

地理环境[edit]

乡境地处屏南县西部，多为中山地形，平均海拔为860米。乡内水电、石材、毛竹和林木资源丰富。法竹坑一带产闪长岩石材，博雅地名网称其品质优良、储量丰富，以「654」著称。[1][2]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网所载的旧材料显示，乡里曾以反季节蔬菜、水果、茶叶和食用菌为主要发展方向，并发展棘胸蛙、牛、羊、鸡、家兔等特种养殖。[2]

荣誉[edit]

全国爱卫会授予路下乡「2017-2019周期国家卫生乡镇（县城）」称号，时间为2020年7月。2023年2月，路下乡列入「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡镇」名单。[1]
