西溪村位于凤埔乡北部，是乡上半区的交通、经济和文化中心，303省道穿村而过。村庄因建于溪流西岸而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年7月，县内原西溪乡并入凤埔区。据博雅地名网，本村在行政沿革上1949年隶属平湖区西溪村，1953年并入凤埔区；1958年为平湖公社的西溪大队，1963年转凤埔公社，1984年成为凤埔乡西溪村委会。[1][2]

经济[edit]

食用菌栽培和果蔬种植是村里的主导产业。村中企业包括竹木制品厂4家，木材加工厂、食用菌蒸汽厂与养鳗场各1家，能吸纳200余名闲置劳动力。果蔬种植面积680多亩，主要有李子、红芽芋、槟榔芋、青椒、生姜等。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年2月，西溪村上榜「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为2021年福建省卫生村。2022年10月，省农业农村厅把本村列为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2025年3月，本村被评为第七届全国文明村镇。2026年1月，本村获列「福建省2026年度乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
