后洋村位于霍童镇西南部，在镇区西南约14.1公里的山区，是镇域边缘的一个行政村，海拔78米。[1]

村名取自村在梅溪村后面的田洋之中的意思。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村在1958年设大队；1961年霍童区设立时划入梅坑乡；1984年才成为村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

据蕉城区人民政府2022年12月发布的村情页，村域面积约2.1平方公里，耕地约340亩，林地约13135亩。[2]

村内有一棵500多年的橄榄树，树胸径约2米。[1]
