钟秀村位于西园镇境内，村名的来历与江边一片樟树有关，后以谐音改为今名。村子在2023年被认定为漳平市「一村一品」专业村，主产花生。[1]
地名由来[edit]
早先村前江畔长着一片樟树，此地因而得名「樟树坂」。后来樟树被砍伐，便取谐音「钟秀」作为村名，寓意钟灵毓秀。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1934年，此地称钟秀保，属第一区的一个联保；1940年起隶登泰乡。1943年并入党泰乡，1949年初称进秀村，仍属党泰乡。[1]
1950至1952年后，此地为党泰区下的一个乡，后并入基进乡。1958年此地改设为大队，所属公社随之调整。[1]
1961年析立钟秀大队，归属西园公社。1984年村子改隶西园乡，名字定为钟秀村。撤乡建镇发生在2013年9月30日，此后村子仍在西园镇内。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2023年6月，村子被认定为2023年漳平市「一村一品」专业村（花生）。[1]
村子两次获得龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」称号：2021年1月为2020年度，2024年1月为2023年度。[1]
