古溪村位于永福镇西南缘，离镇驻地约18千米，村落处溪涧谷地，东、南与南靖县相邻[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
村内两道山涧水在村中汇成一潭，名“饭孟潭”；水自高处直泻入潭，响声如击鼓，村名因此称“鼓溪”，后简写为今名[1]。
1930年代此地隶第二区龙车联保，后并入永福镇，统称古溪保[1]。土改时归第三区，设古溪乡，不久又并回适元乡。1958年隶永福公社，称古溪大队；1961年划归适元公社，1964年复归永福公社；1984年改称古溪村，隶永福乡，1987年随永福设镇[1]。
经济[edit]
地势多梯田，土壤肥沃，粮食以水稻、地瓜为主，林业兼营；产烟叶、柑橘和香蕉[2]。
文化[edit]
古溪属重点老区村，村中有小学一所、教学点一个，并有镇办林场工区[2]。村外有简易公路与“岭和”公路相接，林区公路直达南靖县和溪镇[2]。
