西埔村位于新桥镇区西侧，隔和睦溪与集镇相望，是本镇农民画人才的主要聚集地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名旧称「西湖」。因前溪中有潭如湖，又位于新桥圩以西，故得名；后因泥水冲积成平地，才改为今名。[1]

1934年时属西埔保，归第四区（新桥）西埔联保，后并入新桥乡，又并入新桥镇。1949年初为西埔村；1950年至1952年设西埔乡，属新桥区。1958年改为西埔大队，归新桥公社；1984年政社分开，改称西埔村，隶新桥镇。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村地为平坦开阔的田野，村庄四周有长达2.9千米的防洪堤。村内有10个村民小组，并辖麦园、大山、后畲三个自然村。鹰厦铁路穿村而过，村内设有麦园火车站。[1]

新桥最高峰碧灵峰位于村西北。[1]

经济[edit]

村民以养殖、种植农作物和蔬菜、外出务工为主要生计。一部分农民画画师在厦门、上海、北京等地发展。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2023年6月，被认定为「2023年漳平市一村一品专业村」（食用菌）；同年12月，又被认定为「2023年度福建省一村一品专业村」（白背毛木耳）。2024年6月，入选「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
