坪头村位于庙前与芷溪两地之间，地势平阔，村落面积2.6平方千米，离镇政府约1千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名由来：村址在庙前与芷溪两地中间，地形较为平坦开阔，因此得名坪头。[1]

民国时它属朗村的朗西保第五甲；新中国成立后，划入新泉区，隶芷溪乡。1958年公社化时，以坪头为中心，把水井背、店背、邱坑、李坑、禾塘、崩山下、华屋等处并在一起，组成坪头大队，隶属新泉公社。1972年改属庙前公社坪头大队，1984年建制后为庙前镇坪头村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，坪头村被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；同年8月，它被确定为「连城县第十四届（2018-2020年度）县级文明村镇（社区）」。[1]
