地名由来[edit]

宋末，王姓人家由武平迁居杨城。相传一户人家的母猪失踪两个月后，带着小猪回家，又带着小猪离去。家人跟踪，才发现母猪在竹丛中找笋、筑窝，于是认定此处可以居住，村名因此得名竹溪。[1]
