下坝村位于福建省武平县西南部，是下坝乡人民政府的驻地，地处闽、粤、赣三省交界的区域。省道205线穿境而过，村子是武平通往广东的重要门户之一。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

地名“下坝”的来历，博雅地名网村级页面的说法是：明朝时此处有一片田坝，位于武平县城西南的下游，故称下坝。乡级页面另有水运之说，见下坝乡条目。[1]

清代此地属永兴保，民国时换称兴竹保。解放初隶属下坝区兴竹村；1953年，它成为武平县第四区的一部分，并归属下坝镇。1958年改称下坝大队，1984年设立下坝村委会，此后村名沿用至今。[1]

文化[edit]

2017年8月，下坝村列入福建省第二批省级传统村落名录。2024年1月，村里被命名为2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1]
