下坝乡位于福建省武平县西南部，地处闽粤两省交界，东邻中赤镇，西南与广东省平远县、蕉岭县接壤，距武平县城约30公里，乡政府驻下坝村。[1][3]

明清时期，下坝依托水运，成为闽粤赣边界货物转运的集散之地。1958年设下坝乡，1984年复设下坝乡。乡域多丘陵，河流穿行其间，境内狮子山为丹霞地貌。如今林下灵芝与仙草的种植是乡里的主要产业。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋朝时此地划归和平里，到明朝改隶丰顺平里。民国初年设下坝区；1936年它与今中赤乡一并组成第三区；至1940年，原第三区被并进第一区，下坝乡也在这一年设立。[2]

新中国成立后，1949年11月重新划出下坝区，编为第四区。1958年4月撤区并乡，成立下坝乡；同年11月实行人民公社化，改称下坝（红专）公社。1960年中赤并入下坝，1961年划分时中赤又分出，下坝公社改归中山区工委管辖。1984年10月撤销公社，复设下坝乡。[2]

水运年代，闽、粤、赣三省交界地区的土特产在此装船外运，广东潮汕、广州乃至香港一带的轻工产品则在此上岸分流。地名“下坝”即由此而来：岸上高处开具凭证，低处的河坝上提货。[3]

中央苏区时期，这一带处在商路要冲。红四军多次来到下坝开展活动，粤赣游击支队也多在此活动。据武平县人民政府网站，毛泽东《寻乌调查》提及的罗塘至下坝的商路，对中央苏区有重要贡献。[1]

地理环境[edit]

乡域面积92.61平方千米，地势西北高、东南低，平均海拔180米，是武平县海拔最低的乡镇。[1][2]

中山河、下坝河、松溪河与中赤河在乡内不同地段汇合，最终注入梅江。乡境河岸线全长28公里，境内有电站水库9座，水力资源丰富。[1]

乡境东与中赤镇相接，西北与民主乡、中山镇相连。西南一侧与广东的平远、蕉岭两县相接，邻近的乡镇有差干、上举、泗水与广福。国道358（原省道205线）穿境而过。[2]

矿产方面，位于大田村与大成村的高岭土矿，资源储量已探明达300万吨。[1]

人口民族[edit]

根据武平县人民政府2026年5月发布的乡情简介，登记户籍的居民有7211人，常住在乡里的为3000人。[1]

经济[edit]

据同一乡情简介，全乡耕地10572亩，林地12万亩，其中天然阔叶林6.2万亩。[1]

县政府网站称，乡里是林下灵芝种植与仙草种植的起源地。王老吉、加多宝、何其正等凉茶品牌的主要原料，也出自这一带。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

狮子山在乡境内，面积约8平方公里，地貌为丹霞。山由众多奇峰组成，峰顶草木繁茂，因山形似雄狮而得名。山间小河绕山流过，河床经洪水冲刷，形成了多个缸形溶洞。[2]

狮子山位于贵扬村境内。景点有龙潭、马鞍石与仙人下棋洞，另有童子拜观音、天下第一粮仓和狮子岽。山中流传着许多关于雄狮守护粮仓的神话。博雅地名网称该景区尚待开发。[2][4]

文化[edit]

环境保护部于2014年9月，把「国家级生态乡镇」称号授予下坝乡，所指年度为2012至2013年。2021年1月，乡上榜2020年度龙岩市「平安乡镇（街道）」名单；到2024年1月，乡里获得2023年度龙岩市「平安乡镇（街道）」的认定。[3]
