下营村位于中赤镇南部，是镇内唯一的库区移民村，村境内有水库。[1]

村里盛产仙草、木材和淡水鱼，并发展了农家乐餐饮与钓鱼等休闲项目。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村委驻地所在的自然村名为下营，村以此得名。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

村庄距镇政府约6公里。全村土地约559.11公顷，耕地272亩，林地5700亩。境内水库长3公里，水面约15万平方米。[1]

全村总人口576人，设7个村民小组，有党员26人，分布在6个自然村落。这些数字博雅地名网未注统计年份。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子原先叫下赤。民国时代，此地设夏营保，归中赤乡。1957年分出，另设下营乡，隶属下坝区；1958年又回到中赤乡。人民公社期间为中赤公社的下营大队。1960年划入下坝公社，1961年重新由中赤公社管辖。1984年，中赤乡下营村委会成立，此名沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年2月，下营村上榜「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]

2021年1月、2023年1月与2024年1月，村庄分别被评为2020年度、2022年度、2023年度「龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
