新化村位于武平县中堡镇东北部，离集镇17公里，村子周围大半属梁野山保护区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据传古时官府派人收税，遭村民驱逐，此地原称野地；后有官员主张开化此地，改称新化。[3]

民国时设新化保，隶上中乡；1952年建新化乡，归上中区；1958年隶林助乡，人民公社化后组建新化大队，隶林坊公社；1965年并入中堡公社；1984年设新化村委会，属中堡镇。[2]

2021年1月、2023年1月和2024年1月，新化村先后获龙岩市授予2020、2022、2023年度「平安村居（社区）」称号。[1]
