佛坑村是下都镇西南部的行政村，地少山多，东与吉安村、五丰村毗邻。[1][2]

据博雅地名网，原来村中坑内安有神庙，因此得名佛坑。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属来苏里，民国时属龙文乡安良保。解放后佛坑村设农会分会，归来苏区管辖。1952年，本村与象栏、吉安组成吉安乡；1956年改为佛坑农业高级社。[3]

1958年公社化时并入中都一带，成为东风公社吉安大队下的佛坑生产队，1959年又划为中都公社吉安大队的佛坑生产队。1961年自吉安大队析出，归中都工委下都公社，称佛坑大队。1965年随四社并入中都公社，仍为佛坑大队。[3]

1968年设革领组，1980年改管委会。1984年为中都乡的佛坑村民委员会，1986年随下都划出，归下都乡佛坑村民委员会；2015年改乡为镇后，名为下都镇佛坑村民委员会。[3]

村辖乾上、隆溪、寨禾、寨上、太和、溪背、屋背七个自然村，共5个村民小组，村委会驻地在乾上。[3]

地理环境[edit]

村庄位于下都乡西南约5公里处。南面仙水岽山峦与永定洪山乡泮境、尚贤两村分界，西面西湖寨山峦与和睦、砂睦两村交界，北面开天门与象栏村接壤。西湖寨海拔669米，据博雅地名网，是保护完好的国家级生态林，栖息着多种野生保护动物。[2]

经济[edit]

村中山林面积大，毛竹产业和特色水果产业发展较多。村中有优质瓷土矿（高岭土），据《上杭县志》所载，清代村中的佛坑碗厂已为周边所知。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村前有天后宫，村尾有公王坛，坛前一对石狮保存完好，据博雅地名网具有一定的文物价值。[2]

文化[edit]

福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年12月授予本村「2022年福建省卫生村」称号。2023年1月，村庄获评「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」；龙岩市农业农村局于2021年10月认定本村为「龙岩市2021年市级一村一品专业村」（沙田柚）；2024年11月，村庄被认定为「2024年度福建省一村一品专业村」（沙田柚）。[1]
