赤坑村是福建省龙岩市上杭县古田镇下辖的村，位于古田镇西北部，与蛟洋镇、连城县庙前镇相邻，距古田镇政府约16公里，离319国道约3公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：旧时此地居民生活困窘，“赤”与“贫”相通，村名因此寓意贫苦的山村。[4]

明朝年间，陈氏从连城隔川迁入开基。清代属古田里。1929年红四军入闽后，此地成立赤坑苏维埃政府，属北四区；民国时属上杭县第三区，1935年至1949年9月属第四区云田乡。1949年解放初为古蛟区赤坑农会分会，1953年属第十三区的一个乡。[3]

1956年，上村、中村、下村各设一个高级社；1958年公社化，称古田公社赤坑连，1959年改设大队。1984年改为古田乡赤坑村民委员会，1986年9月改为古田镇赤坑村民委员会。[3]

村辖上村、中村、下村、塘坑里、水口五个自然村，共6个村民小组。[3]

博雅地名网所载本村荣誉有：2022年12月，被福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名为「2022年福建省卫生村」；2024年1月，本村获「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」称号。[1]
