白玉村位于临城镇境内，村名的来历见于一则传说，大意是开基时周围山上遍生白叶。[1]

村内有金玉顶石屋，为福建省文物保护单位；西普陀风景区也在村的附近。[1][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

1929年土地革命时期此地设乡苏维埃，民国时属白叶保。解放初归旧县区管辖，1951年属第八区的白玉乡。1955年和1956年间先后设初级社与高级社，1957年撤区并乡后并入附城区。[2]

1958年公社化后设7个生产队，属旧县公社白玉大队，1965年并入城郊公社，1980年由管委会管理。1984年起为城郊乡下属村，1993年称临城镇白玉村民委员会。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

金玉顶石屋用条石砌成，门额刻有「金玉顶」三字，屋内设「开山香林和尚座」。附属的香林塔建于明崇祯五年（1632年），为六角形尖顶石塔。[3][4]

这处石屋在2005年5月11日被省里公布为文物保护单位，编在第六批之中。[4]
