镇东社区是福建省龙岩市上杭县临江镇下辖的社区，位于上杭城区东段。[1][2] 社区名称取自其地处临江镇东部的方位。[1] 2002年起设立社区居民委员会，此前这片居民区经历了由保到里、由街到居委会的多次建制变化。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带宋端平元年（1234年）已有建置，属来苏里；明、清时期属在城里。[3] 民国时分设登俊保与太忠保，隶城厢镇；解放初两保合并为俊忠里，归附城区。[3]

附城区改为第一区后，俊忠里的名称未变。[3] 1953年起称城关镇镇东街，公社化后归城关公社镇东大队，其后经红心大队等名称。[3] 1980年起为城关镇镇东居民委员会，1986年改为临江镇镇东居民委员会，2002年起改设镇东社区居民委员会。[3]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办将镇东社区命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1] 2021年1月，该社区被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
