上湖村位于四都镇与红山乡交界处，距集镇约35公里，地处偏僻。村名的来历，据博雅地名网，是居民点在一片低洼地的上方。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1963年后改属四都，设上湖大队；1984年起称上湖村民委员会。[1]

村下辖上湖、乌泥两个自然村。[1]

2023年1月，上湖村被命名为2022年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」；2024年1月，被命名为2023年度同一称号。[1]
