村中有一条小溪，于是取名根溪。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1969年重新设立根溪大队，1984年改为根溪行政村。[1]
2024年1月，该村获评2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」；2023年1月，又获评2022年度同名称号。[1]
经济[edit]
金桔是根溪村的“一村一品”产品。2020年12月，该村入选福建省“一村一品”示范村名单；2021年10月，龙岩市把它认定为市级专业村。[1]
