廖家村位于新桥镇南部，童公路横贯全村。[2]

地名由来[edit]

约600年前，廖氏先祖从宁化石壁寨下迁来此地开基，村因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初此地归新桥区任屋乡管辖，1957年撤区并乡后仍在任屋乡；1958年公社化后划入新桥公社，设廖家大队；1984年改称廖家村民委员会。[1]

人口与土地[edit]

全村辖8个自然村、11个村民小组。村中有476户，2152人。土地为17630亩，山林15500亩，耕地1150亩，空闲地980亩。[2]
