地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，早先的一座简易大桥被改建成新桥之后，「新桥」一名便沿用下来，成为村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地先前是新桥大队的辖地，1984年起成为新桥村民委员会的辖区，一直延续至今。[1]

据2017年的镇情页，新桥村是镇里培育的党建工作示范点之一。[3]

人口与经济[edit]

村域土地合计14446亩，其中林地11132亩，耕地只有1790亩。村民分属14个村民小组，共4820人。[2]

当地产业以烤烟种植为主，另有勤业腐竹和手工细面的加工。外出劳力多在北京经营调料，在广东经营电热器材，也有人进厂务工。[2]

文化[edit]

据《新桥年鉴》，村中的舞稻草龙灯习俗在中元节进行：村民扎起稻草龙灯，游遍村头村尾，以示以正压邪、平安过节，同时庆贺早稻丰收。此俗始于三百多年前，直到2016年仍有三条稻草龙灯出动。[4]
