协兴村在永定区东北部，福三线从村中穿过。从龙岩市区算起约43公里，村子与坎市镇的洽溪村接壤，下辖8个自然村。[1][2]

村名寓意协作兴旺。旧时村中住着八个小姓，彼此团结协作，取「齐心协力，定能兴旺」之意定名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧属中丰乡协兴保。新中国成立后划为第四区的一个乡，1958年归抚市管理区，1962年成立协兴大队，1965年并入另一大队，1984年属抚市乡的一个村委会。1989年春，才从中划出，另设协兴村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

协兴村是红色革命基点村，村民中有人参加游击队，为其送信送粮；全村有烈士3人，五老人员8人。[1]
