秀山村位于坎市镇西部，距坎市集镇约5公里，全村辖14个自然村。[1]

村名的来历是这样的：旧时此地属全胜乡卓秀保，四周群山环绕，居民取「卓秀保」中的「秀」字，与周边山势相配，便有了秀山之名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国年间，这里归白土乡的南山保管辖。1952年起到1958年9月，此地为白土乡的一部分，乡中设农会。[1]

1958年10月，人民公社成立后这里设为秀山大队生产营；此后又先后作为管理区、革命领导小组（1969年）和管委会（1972年起）的所在。1984年才设秀山村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

村子以农业、养殖业和劳务输出为主导产业。[1]
