地理环境[edit]
村庄以洋底田野为中心，周围群山环抱，两条小溪在村中汇合，经村南水尾宫流入后埔溪，形成一个小盆地。[1][2]
经济[edit]
村民经济以粮食生产和经济作物为主，兼营林业、养殖业和种植业；地下矿产以石灰石为主。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前此地属内山乡，称刘后保。1957年撤区并乡后归岩山乡，1958年编入人民公社大队，1984年曾并入邻村的村委会，1987年分出，单独设立刘坑村委会，属岩山乡。[1]
2022年10月，省农业农村厅把刘坑村列为第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇之一。2023年1月，村子被命名为2022年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」；2021年1月，被命名为2020年度同名称号。[1]
