北城街道位于福建省龙岩市，属新罗区管辖，因地处龙岩城区北部而得此名[1]。辖区内的中国闽西交易城2001年建成开业，是闽粤赣边重要的综合商品交易市场[2]。辖区内设有闽西交易城社区。

历史沿革[edit]

2011年6月，北城街道办事处由龙门一带析出设立，此前这片地方长期隶属龙门乡、龙门镇[1]。

土地革命时期，1929年至1930年间的一段时间，以及1932年的部分月份，这里设有湖邦区苏维埃政府下的石埠乡与谢洋乡[1]。1933年并入龙门乡，1937年成为龙门乡联保的一部分[1]。

再往前追溯，明代此地属铁石乡，聚落有湖洋社、谢洋和石埠岭；清代至民国初，湖洋社的名称改为湖邦社[1]。

新中国成立后行政归属多次变动：1949年11月划归湖邦区湖洋乡，1956年隶属龙池区，1958年9月编入湖邦人民公社[1]。1984年起属龙门镇[1]。

2023年度，北城街道获评龙岩市「平安乡镇（街道）」，认定于2024年1月；同一称号的上一届，即2022年度，确定于2023年1月[1]。
