大洋村位于西陂街道西部，村域被罗龙路、龙腾路和人民路分成三大片区[1]。村名的来历：村子处在龙川溪边，地势平坦，当地俗称平坦开阔的地块为「洋」，又因村庄规模较大，故称大洋[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

解放初属西陈区，1956年划入附城区，1957年撤区并乡后改属西陂乡[1]。1958年这里称西陂公社大洋大队；此后经城关公社、城郊公社的变动，1961年6月恢复西陂公社大洋大队，1984年设大洋村委会[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2012年，大洋村被评为省级卫生村；此外，村子还获福建省平安建设活动的「先进示范社区村」称号[1]。
