新陂社区驻地为新陂自然村，村名取自旧时河段上所筑的陂堰。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地属新罗镇，解放初归大同乡，称新陂村。1959至1966年另设新陂大队，划归小洋农场管辖；1966年起改属城关公社，1970年底合入一个大队，1979年底复又单独设队。1981年县改市后，由南城街道办事处管辖，称新陂大队；1984年改为新陂村民委员会，2003年改设新陂社区居民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

「平安村居（社区）」称号先后于2021年1月授予2020年度、2023年1月授予2022年度、2024年1月授予2023年度，均由龙岩市评定。社区在2022年11月被评为2021年度「全国综合减灾示范社区」。[1]
