地理环境[edit]

村域约2.9平方千米（博雅地名网未注年份），辖四个自然村。[1] 西侧为景区与高苏坂村，北侧与武夷山茶场相接。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年设赤石大队，归曙光公社；1960年划归武夷公社。[1] 1984年设为赤石村民委员会，归武夷乡管辖；1994年隶属武夷镇；2003年转属武夷街道。[1]

文物古迹[edit]

村内的赤石暴动地址已公布为省级文物保护单位，年代属近代。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年12月，赤石村列入国家林业和草原局公布的第二批国家森林乡村名单。[1]

2024年2月，村子成为第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇的创建对象之一。[1]
