司前乡位于光泽县北部，北与江西省铅山县接壤，乡政府驻司前村。据博雅地名网，村庄建在狮山之前，原称“狮前”，后演变为“司前”，乡名由此而来。[1][2]

乡内东山、墩上、碗厂等村为少数民族村，三月三畲族民俗活动也在墩上村举办。[2][5]

地理环境[edit]

乡境北与江西省铅山县毗邻，处北溪上游。面积数字各书不一：百度百科载行政区域面积418.94平方千米，博雅地名网则载约433平方公里（未注年份）。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，乡境分属永德、招贤、崇仁三里的二十三至二十六都。民国时期属新甸区。1950年列入五区，1951年区治由新甸迁至司前，改称司前区；1952年一度改称刘斌区，1954年为六区，1956年恢复原名司前区。[4]

1958年起实行人民公社，次年4月定名司前人民公社。1961年设工委，1963年撤工委、复设区；1964年5月撤区并入公社。1968年建立公社革命委员会，1980年12月改设管委会。1984年8月，管委会撤销，恢复乡镇建制，定名司前乡。[3][4]

人口民族[edit]

据百度百科，司前乡2019年末的户籍人口为20178人。东山村、墩上村、碗厂村是少数民族村，其中东山村又称民族村。[1][2]

文化[edit]

“三月三”是畲族的传统节日，司前乡于墩上村举办了第三届“三月三”畲族民俗文化活动，时间在2025年3月。[5]

2014年6月，环境保护部认定司前乡为「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」；2021年2月，司前乡入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

  • 毛湛毛氏宗祠在台山村，清嘉庆年间建，前后三进，三开间，2009年被公布为福建省第七批省级文物保护单位。[7][8]
  • 马铃关在司前村，据博雅地名网载建于唐代，为县级文物保护单位。[9]
  • 云际关在云际村，始建于五代，明弘治十四年重建，为光泽古代“九关十三隘”之一，现为县级文物保护单位。[10][11]
  • 清溪夫人庙在清溪村，建于清代，为县级文物保护单位。[12]
  • 大歧山在岱坪村北约2公里，山林密布，据光泽县人民政府网载，山中有始建于唐代的古刹。[6]
