新桥村位于水北街镇中南部，省道花崇线穿境而过。村名由来是唐代时在村中小溪上建桥，村因桥得名[1]。博雅地名网记人口1018人（年份未注），下设6个自然村，村民小组7个[2]。境内的乌龙山海拔近千米[2]。2021年12月，村庄入选「2021年度南平市绿盈乡村中级版村庄」名单；2022年10月，村庄由福建省农业农村厅定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属观前乡，1949年后先后归第二、第三区及第十三区管辖，1958年属水北公社，1961年单独设新桥大队，隶属观前公社[1]。1966年改属水北公社，1981年起隶属水北街公社，1984年设村民委员会，1993年乡改镇后仍称新桥村村民委员会[1]。
