历史沿革[edit]
西汉时，越国后裔已在此繁衍；村名取自村中流过的一条溪，名为桂溪。[1][3]
旧时这里称桂溪都，又曾设桂南、桂北两乡。1946年，村地分属仁寿镇的桂南乡。[1]
1950年改称桂溪乡，属第五区；1958年改为桂溪大队，1961年归仁寿公社。1984年，这里设桂溪村村民委员会，归仁寿乡管辖；1994年撤乡设镇后隶属仁寿镇。[1]
1934年至1937年间，红军游击队曾在此战斗、生活；地村、北溪头两个自然村被定为革命老区基点村。[1][3]
2021年6月，福建省公布第四批省级传统村落名单，桂溪村在列。[1][3][5]
地理环境[edit]
村域土地面积约52平方千米，村中有溪流穿过。气候属亚热带海洋性气候，年平均气温18度。[1][2]
姓氏宗族[edit]
村民以王、陈、吴姓为多。据博雅地名网载，王姓一族为闽王审知的后裔，村中原有其祠堂一座。[1][3]
经济[edit]
村内有林地68782亩，毛竹林14328亩，耕地4655亩。木、竹、果、粮是主导产业，村里设有华家山、石门寺、板岭三处毛竹采育场。[1][2]
名胜古迹[edit]
罗金山遗址位于本村，时代属新石器时代，被公布为县级文物保护单位。[4]
