东郊村位于元坑镇政府所在地，村内有元坑陈氏民居。这一建筑群为清代遗存，2009年列为福建省文物保护单位。村民以陈姓为多，宋代以来已有人在此居住。[6][2][3][5]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时此地称东郊村，属西峰都。1940年称东郊堡，属元坑乡；1952年并入东九乡，归第四区。1959年设东郊大队，1961年划入元坑公社，直到1984年才定名东郊村村民委员会，1992年撤乡后随之属于元坑镇。[1]

地名与旧称[edit]

据博雅地名网，张姓较早迁居村子西头，陈姓随后迁入张姓以东，村名由此称为“东郊”。村子古称东兴村。[1][5]

建筑与文物[edit]

元坑陈氏民居为清代建筑群，占地4718.76平方米，由封火墙围合的六栋横向排列合院组成，各栋多进相接，彼此又有廊院相通。主栋门坪保留清代拴马石，正厅悬有乾隆年间吏部尚书刘墉题写的匾额。该建筑群于2009年列为福建省第七批省级文物保护单位。[2][3]

附属的东郊新庙由大殿与戏台组成，保存了较多早期建筑手法。[3]

秀二公墓为宋代遗迹，已公布为县级文物保护单位。[4]

1988年，陈氏宗亲在村部前重建陈氏祠堂，现作为村文化俱乐部和老年人活动中心使用。[5]

荣誉[edit]

2015年10月，东郊村入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」；2021年11月，东郊村获授「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2022年10月，东郊村被列入「第六批中国传统村落」。[1]
