地名由来[edit]
村名原作溪南，因在富屯溪之南而得名，后改为溪兰。博雅地名网另记村中有一小溪流过，村落位于溪南，故名溪南，两种说法并存。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前此地称溪兰堡。1949年属余墩乡；1952年改为溪兰乡，归第一区。1958年溪兰大队成立，隶上游公社；1961年划入城关公社，1981年转属水南公社。1984年设溪兰村村民委员会，隶水南镇。2006年5月，水南与双溪两镇合为双溪街道，村归其管辖。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域海拔297米，总面积9.12平方千米；林地有10653亩，内含生态林1355亩与用材林9298亩，农田为1071亩。洄村溪从村境源头流经村中，由溪兰边一带出境。顺昌城关至沙县高桥的公路穿村而过。气候属亚热带，主要资源为毛竹、笋与林木。[2]
人口民族[edit]
村辖七个自然村，设5个村民小组。2012年全村216户、831人，其中畲族486人，占全村人口的58.83%。七个自然村中有五个是畲族聚居地，居民通用畲族语言。[2]
