历史沿革[edit]
村名中“上”指方位，“埔”是溪边的沙洲。[1]博雅地名网称，村中始祖约1310年自中原入闽，定居于此。[1]
明代此地归余庆东里；入清后，1657年（顺治十四年）改入余东里。1941年称上埔保，之后归余庆乡，1949年后划入第二区。[1]
1950年称上埔乡，1958年称上埔大队，1961年划入上埔公社，1963年归巨口公社，1984年改称上埔村委会。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村中以张、陈两姓为主，另有朱、赵、王、章、阙等姓。[2]
文化[edit]
2019年6月列入第五批中国传统村落名录；同月，福建省人民政府把上埔村认定为「第六批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。[1]
2015年10月入选福建省第一批省级传统村落；2024年1月被命名为2023年福建省卫生村。[1]
