南新村是洋后镇下辖的行政村，村名取自南山、新庄两个自然村名的首字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明洪武元年（1368年）村址属遵教里。民国初年村域隶属南平县第四区大凤一带的遵教乡，后转入第三区樟湖一带的遵教乡管辖。1946年改属遵福乡。[1]

1950年划为洋后乡的一部分，1958年称南新大队，1961年归洋后公社管辖。1984年转为南新村委会，1992年洋后乡改制为洋后镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

第三次全国文物普查不可移动文物名录登记有南新石后井遗址，为青铜时代遗址。[4]

经济[edit]

村内以林业为主，土地多为山林，主要种植杉木、松树和毛竹。粮食作物以稻谷、甘薯、玉米为主，经济作物有金薯、烟叶、蔬菜等。[2]

在南新村与坑门村一带，约50余亩的地块上种有嘉宝果，果树近千棵。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，南新村经福建省农业农村厅评定，列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
