星光社区位于延平区黄墩街道辖区内，属主城区。社区以“星光”二字命名，意在便于社区工作与当地企业相互协调，并鼓励南纸、星光造纸集团两家企业建设社区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此前这里是菜园里社区居民委员会，归黄墩街道办事处，由南纸股份公司与星光造纸集团公司共同管理，未从企业剥离。2004年改称星光社区居民委员会，仍归黄墩街道。[1]
