玉山村位于新圩镇东南部，在九龙江北溪左岸，东面与安溪相接，南面与长泰相邻。鹰厦铁路穿过鹅山自然村，村境内有鹅山火车站。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村中一处小地名为“白玉”，与邻近的华山各取一字，合成“玉山”。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年改为玉山大队，1984年改设玉山村委会。[1]

新中国成立后，村被确定为老区村。[2]

自然环境[edit]

村内林地面积较大，森林资源丰富，已开发森林浴、原始森林探秘等旅游项目，夏季也是避暑的去处。村内有小型水电站，竹笋和铁观音茶为主要物产。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」。[1]
