塔下村是书洋镇西部的行政村，是张姓为主的客家人聚居地，村内沿溪流两岸建有土楼，被认定为「福建省历史文化名村」，并列入「中国传统村落」。[2][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历有两种说法。博雅地名网称，先祖迁居时由高处往低处走，各家住处渐次低下，原叫「塌下」，雅化为塔下。维基百科则说，村中并无塔，张姓先人自马头背下山来此开基，客家话「踏下」与「塔下」音近，因此得名。[1][3]

据维基百科，张姓族人在明朝宣德年间迁来此地。最古老的土楼可追溯到明崇祯年间，此后又建成42座土楼，形式有方形、圆形、围裙形和曲尺形等，清末以后则沿溪流两岸建起单院式吊角楼。[3]

早年归梅江乡的塔下、大坝两保管辖，新中国成立后设为第五区塔下乡。1956年组成初高级合作社，公社化时为塔下大队，1984年改设塔下村民委员会。[1]

2003年1月，塔下村被福建省人民政府确定为「第二批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。[1]

2017年4月，福建省人民政府批复了塔下历史文化名村的保护规划，确定以德远堂、土楼水街建筑群和大坝土楼群为核心保护对象。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

德远堂位于村东山坡上，又称张氏家庙，建于明代，清乾隆二十五年（1760年）重修，堂前立有石旗杆23根，多为清代张氏族人考中举人、进士后所立。2006年列为「第六批全国重点文物保护单位」。[5][6]

村内的裕德楼和顺昌楼分居溪流两侧，与溪流相合形如太极，村子因此有「太极水乡」之称。[2]

文化[edit]

村中传承有客家木偶戏，以及「客家土楼营造技艺」等非物质文化遗产项目。[2]

据维基百科，2007年塔下村入选首批「中国景观村落」。[3]

2015年10月，塔下村入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」；2016年12月，被列为「第四批中国传统村落」，同月入选「第四批美丽宜居村庄示范」。[1]

2017年9月，塔下村入选住建部公布的「2017年改善农村人居环境示范村」。[1]

2019年1月，塔下村被列为「第七批中国历史文化名村」；2020年8月，入选「第二批全国乡村旅游重点村」。[1]
