山南村是东山县陈城镇下辖的行政村，位于东山岛西面的突出部分，村域面积1.24平方公里。全村148户650人，以农业为主，兼营渔业。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据村中所述，清代由诏安县内风村许姓人家开基建村，村址曾几经变迁。[2]

1956年，山南村成为独立的村；1960年设大队，1989年改为村。[2]

自然环境[edit]

村庄三面环山，南面朝海，有一处长约1500米的小海湾沙滩，海湾东侧有一座风沙山。海滩南面约300米处的海底有长约1500米、宽约80米的礁石。[2]

村内的主要古迹与地名有风沙山、跑山姑、仙脚蹄与狗浪礁。[2]

经济[edit]

村域耕地360亩，林地700亩，浅海滩涂80亩。1950年以前交通较为闭塞，此后村中修通了通往全村的水泥公路，并发展竹桁捕捞与鲍鱼养殖。[2]
