历史沿革[edit]
明末清初，先祖自福建兴化府迁来，选址于一片草埔的南侧建村，因而称南埔。[1]
清代隶属诏安县五图的南埭保，民国时归东山县复兴乡。建国后，1959年划归康美公社南埔大队，1961年改属樟塘公社南埔大队；1984年设南埔村村委会，隶樟塘乡；1993年改属樟塘镇。[1]
人文[edit]
新加坡侨胞谢联棠（1888至1974年）1931年于南埔办起「南埔南薰小学」，并负责全部师资经费。建国后他仍常寄款资助办学，乡人称之为“东山之陈嘉庚”。[1]
荣誉[edit]
南埔村在2020年12月被确定为「福建省第一批高级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
2021年11月，南埔村获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
2023年12月，南埔村被认定为「2023年度福建省一村一品专业村（乡村旅游）」。[1]
2025年3月，南埔村被命名为「第七届全国文明村镇」；同年11月，入选「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
