金石村位于西埔镇南部，1997年从探石村析出设立行政村。[1]

村内有一块大石，因称「金石」。相传南宋末年，皇帝途经此地，村名由此而来。[1]

沿革[edit]

1997年经漳州市批准设立行政村，同年更名为金石村。[1]
