马头村是诏安县建设乡下辖的行政村，位于乡政府驻地北面。村委会设在马头自然村，全村另含北记、进宝山两个自然村，共三个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村委会驻地是马头自然村，村名沿用此名。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村庄地处低丘，沿公路线布局，平面呈月眉形。东面的界线在进宝山，西面到十八弯，南临诏和公路，北面靠近天窗山麓。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时这里属岩溪乡，1950年划为第五区的马头乡。此后，村子在1955年5月至1956年6月归西潭区管辖；1958年并入建设农场，设马头作业区。1984年10月改为现名。[1]

经济[edit]

村民林农并重，主种橡胶、水稻、甘蔗和花生，兼种茶果。[1]

文化[edit]

二战期间，这里曾是党领导的游击活动的地方，村庄因此属于老区村。[1]
