河美村是进入秀篆镇的第一个村庄，距诏安县城约62公里，与广东省饶平县建饶镇山水相连。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子位于秀篆溪下游，是全镇河流汇合的出口，历史上称河尾，后改称河美，1958年成立大队时沿用此名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年此地属第六区寨河乡，1951年划归第七区。1952年至1954年间，河美乡自寨河乡析出，属第九区。1958年划入和平人民公社，设河美管理区。[1]
1961年隶属秀篆区寨河公社，1964年恢复为秀篆公社的河美大队，1984年起采用今名。[1]
台湾渊源[edit]
1989年，台湾吕氏宗亲分两批到河美村拜祖，由吕文雄、吕三郎分别率领。[2]
