林厝村是梅岭镇的镇政府驻地所在村，位于镇东部。村子东临诏安湾，西靠诏安至宫口的县道，南邻董厝前，西北至下河村。全村只辖林厝一个自然村，村委会驻此。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

村名取自驻地林厝自然村。民国时属梅中乡；中华人民共和国成立后先属第一区，后属第三区傅厝乡，其后，1955年改隶桥东区傅厝乡，此后，1956年属四都区傅厝乡，接着，1958年归东方红人民公社傅厝管理区。[1]

1961年5月设下河公社林厝大队；其后，1964年属桥东公社，此后又归下河公社，此后，1982年8月改隶梅岭公社。接着，1984年10月起由梅岭乡的林厝村委会管理，其后，1991年起称现名。[1]

自然环境与生计[edit]

村子地势平坦，为林姓聚居的村落，座北朝南，呈方块状。村民讲闽南话，分为12个村民小组，全村823户、2378人。耕地约1390亩，主种水稻与花生，兼种地瓜与甘蔗。[1][2]

渔业以捕捞马鲛、鲳鱼为主。改革开放后，村子发展对虾养殖，面积约420亩，另有淡水养殖80亩。村内有制冰厂两个，拖网船约10只，三排船28多只，并种植防风林带1200亩。[1]

文教卫生[edit]

村内有中心小学一所，医疗室两所，梅岭中学也设在此村。[1]
