赤土乡位于福建省漳州市漳浦县中部，处在浯江上游，东侧与湖西畲族乡、深土镇相接，南侧靠近旧镇镇，西侧是绥安镇，北侧连着长桥镇。[1][2][5][6]

全乡土地面积约122平方千米，其中含万安农场30平方千米。县政府网站所载的7106户、27968人未注统计年份，百度百科据2019年末数据给出户籍人口27870人。[1][5]

乡内的天福石雕园是国家4A级旅游景区，白鹭森林公园以油杉林和白鹭著称，圣能寺位于下宫村。乡境还有浯江溪流过，水库众多。[1][3][7][8][9]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，这一带属嘉宾乡钦贤里；明清时期归入七都。民国初年隶属东区，民国26年改属第一区，民国29年设四股乡。[4][5]

1944年，海乌乡与四股乡两乡并为浯江乡。新中国成立初期，此地属第八区，后改称浯江区。1956年10月，浯江区并入旧镇区，溪东乡并入下宫乡，赤土乡并入荷山乡。[3][4]

1958年3月，荷山、下宫两乡并成赤土乡，辖域与现今大致相当。同年9月，此地划为浯江公社之下的赤土管理区；1960年5月该公社改归旧镇公社；1961年7月管理区撤销，赤土公社随之成立。1984年8月，公社改为乡，沿用至今。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

乡境在县境腹地，浯江溪在境内流过，溪流上游水源来自炉飞一带的山地。东部以灶山山脉为界，其间的苦致山又名湖西岭，与湖西畲族乡相隔。[1][3]

乡内水库众多，小(二)型以上共8座；眉力水库属中型，蓄水量为2072万立方米。[1]

经济[edit]

县政府网站统计，特色农业的种植面积合计为2.34万亩，主要作物有余甘、青枣、莲雾、荔枝和龙眼。乡内还种植花卉苗木，形成另一项产业。[1][3]

县道X525线（长旧线）自南至北贯穿乡境，X524线（佛绥线）自东至西横穿，各村社之间多有水泥路相通。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

天福石雕园位于水头村一带的沈海高速公路服务区内，园区2003年11月开业，以「唐山过台湾」为主题的石雕群是其核心景观，园内另设闽台民俗馆。园区获评国家4A级旅游景区。[1][9]

白鹭森林公园位于乡东部，东侧临眉力水库，园内有三千多株百年油杉。每年4至10月，上万只白鹭在此栖息，上世纪90年代初起被辟为野生动物保护区。[3][8]

圣能寺在下宫村，原名荷山庵；寺院为女众道场，1987年于旧址重建时定为现名。1994年，寺周一带油杉林划为野生动物保护区。[7][10]
